New Student Information

HOW TO GET STARTED:

  • Make an appointment and have a one on one planning session with an Admissions Representative.
  • Submit your high school diploma, school transcripts, or your GED diploma.
  • The admission office will take you on a tour of the school.
  • You will be given information on financial aid availability and a plan to pay for your education.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Make an appointment and have a one on one planning session with an Admissions Representative.All applicants are required to visit the school for a personal interview with an admission staff member. An applicant is encouraged to apply for admissions as far in advance of the starting date as possible.

The school admits as regular students: high school graduates and holders of high school equivalency certificates (GED).

  5. $10.00 Money Order (make payable to LA State Board of Cosmetology)
  6. Original Social Security Card

Students may apply for Financial Aid. The school offers Pell Grants and Direct Student Loans for those who qualify.

The following are various types of aid available:

  1. Federal Pell Grant: This grant is awarded to students with financial need and does not have to be repaid. The amount of your Federal Pell Grant depends on your cost of attendance, expected family contribution, enrollment status and whether you attend for a full academic year or less.
  2. Federal Student Loans: Student loans are borrowed money that must be repaid, with interest. You must be enrolled at least part-time to be eligible.
  3. PLUS Loans: Loans that parents can obtain to help pay the cost of education for their dependent undergraduate children.
  4. TOPS: State Scholarships.
  5. VA Benefits: We are an approved vendor for individuals who qualify for VA benefits.
  6. LA Vocational Rehabilitation: We are an approved vendor for individuals who qualify for benefits.
  1. 76% of our cosmetology graduates completed with student loan debt.
  2. 0% of Instructor Training Graduates completed with student loan debt.
  3. The median Title IV Loan Debt for Cosmetology graduates in 09/10 was $4,500.00.
  4. Private loan debt was 0 in both courses.

Federal Student Aid

STAFF & FACULTY:

  • You are going to learn from a dedicated and caring team of instructors and office staff to assist you in the business office.
  • You will learn to create the styles clients demand through demonstrations, theory, lectures, DVD presentations and hands on training.
  • Our instructors have 5 or more years of teaching and salon experience. The staff attends many continuing educational classes on the various new ways to teach and present information. In addition, most of our teachers have master teaching certificates.
  • All instructors and staff are dedicated to helping you learn the skills to obtain personal satisfaction and financial stability.
